My domain isn't working
You've connected your domain but your site won't open — don't worry, it's usually a DNS settings or propagation timing issue. Work through these checks in order.
1. Check your domain status in the panel
Open Settings in the control panel and go to Site Address and Email. In the Connected Domain section, you'll see your domain's status. If verification isn't complete, follow the warning here.
2. Are your DNS records correct?
Open the DNS management page at your domain provider (GoDaddy, Namecheap, registrar, etc.) and compare the records Wibigo shows you exactly:
- Your CNAME record should match Wibigo's value exactly.
- If there's an old A or CNAME record for the same name, delete it — conflicting records break the connection.
- Make sure you've added the record to the right domain (the
wwwsubdomain, or the root domain).
3. Wait for propagation
DNS changes can take anywhere from a few minutes to 48 hours to spread worldwide. If your records are right but your site still won't open, wait a few hours and try again. Your site will stay accessible from your free Wibigo address during this time.
4. Re-run verification
After you've fixed your records, go back to the panel and run verification again with Verify and Save.
If you bought your domain through Wibigo, DNS is set up automatically — but ICANN rules require you to click the email verification link in your inbox. If you don't verify, your domain may be suspended.
In the panel, message Wictor asking "why won't my domain open" — it'll take you straight to your domain status.
